Spring/ Summer 2022 projects:
I’ve directed The Comedy of Errors at the American Shakespeare Center, running til May 15th, 2022. Join us, as our Ephesians have a Terrible day!
I’m directing Twelfth Night, Or what you will at the ASC. It runs June 9 – August 6, in repertory with Larissa Lury’s direction of the world premiere of L M Feldman’s Thrive, Or What You Will, winner of the ASC’s Shakespeare’s New Contemporaries project (and short-listed for this year’s Lambda Literary Prize for LGBTQ Drama.)
And then, I’m popping over to Michigan to direct Much Ado about Nothing at Hope Summer Repertory Theater for their 50th anniversary season, to conclude my Spring and Summer skip through the comedies.
… I don’t know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
With your one wild and precious life?
— The Summer Day by Mary Oliver
Think when we talk of horses, that you see them Printing their proud hoofs i' the receiving earth; For 'tis your thoughts that now must deck our kings, Carry them here and there; jumping o'er times, Turning the accomplishment of many years Into an hour-glass...
– Henry V by Will Shakespeare
I saw your production of Comedy of Errors at American Shakespeare Center on 4.30. What an excellent production. I look forward to seeing your take on Twelfth Night!
